I Have Been Using Garlic To Treat A Yeast Infection. How Long Does It Take To Get Over It W/ This Remedy?

Okay. . . so I have been under attack by the yeastie bastards. I treated the infection with Monistat Day or Night first; it didn’t work. Then, after that put a dent in my bank ($20), but did not supply results, I used the Equate 3 day treatment. This didn’t work either. I started looking online for natural remedies and found garlic was a enemy to yeast. I tried it and low and behold the infection seemed to clear up almost immediately. The next day I resumed sexual activity with my husband as usual, but afterwards I started feeling the itchy feeling and by the morning it had returned. I once again treated it with garlic and waited two more days before resuming intercourse, but when I did the infection again returned. How long does it take for garlic to get rid of this for good? I can’t keep relapsing back into agony. I have had this for over a week now, but I can’t go to the doctor on the account that I have no insurance and it costs a lot of money. Please help!

Personally, I’ve never heard of garlic as a specific treatment for a yeast infection. Not quite sure what you’re doing with it – taking garlic tablets? Eating loads of it?
I recommend a good probiotic supplement, live natural yoghurt (both to eat, and smeared all over a tampon and inserted at night as it will treat the inner problem), try to cut yeast and sugar out of your diet too. Make sure it’s cleared up completely before going back to having sex as it can start up really quickly again, and you can pass it to your husband. Try condoms for a while to keep the danger at bay.
